Review on πŸ”† HONWELL Tap Light: Wireless Multi-colored Touch Cabinet Lights for Classroom/Closet Shelf (5Pack) by Mario Hernandez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great touch tool for fun light show and therapy!

UPDATE: Honwell now also offers remote controlled puck lights with 16 color options for $25. If you're looking for more colors, this might be the way to go, but note that they don't "turn on and off" like the ones we use. They are remote controlled, which can limit some therapeutic options. I run a small pediatric therapy clinic that treats a surprising number of children with sensory needs, as a result we successfully integrate sensory experience and therapeutic techniques into our work. Courses in occupational therapy and speech therapy. Therefore, having a fun and interactive photo lab (we call it a "sensory cave") is very important. Currently we have an awesome bubble tube, two black lanterns, a fiber optic waterfall, and a glow of light. Our kids love telling their therapist what colors to do and choosing which other lights in a room to turn on or off. I was looking for another interactive feature to add to our touch photo lab, but wanted to make it easy for our customers to manipulate. myself and stumbled across HONWELL Touch Light Wireless Tap Lights. They change multiple colors (white, red, green, blue) and dim when pressed and held. They are relatively large and emit a lot of light, so children can easily see them and click on them to change color and brightness according to their space needs. The button to change/turn off the light is easy to press so it doesn't take much effort (which is great for the little ones we work with). We decided to move them around so children of different ages and sizes can use them and having to reach some of the high or low helps strengthen muscles and develop motor planning for occupational therapy. They're also great for working on color identification, using phrases like "more" or "less" for light intensity, expressive language skills (like asking for a specific color or sequence) during speech therapy, and can be used for a host of others Activities such as multi-step instructions, counting, coordination, and more are used. The main reason we wanted to buy them is their value as a sensory integration therapy tool. Each requires 3 batteries (so be prepared!) but so far they have worked well despite daily use and left overnight for several days. times (oops!). The costs. The best part? They cost less than $20 for a 4-pack! problems. I was initially concerned about durability as some of the kids we saw played a little rough, but they've held up fantastic for the past month, even with constant use! I was also wondering how to attach it to the wall. What if we wanted to move them later or delete them altogether? We attached them directly to the wall with the included 3M adhesive circles and none of them fell off (or fell off). I really enjoy using 3M adhesive products because they are designed not to damage the surface they are attached to and we have had great luck with similar products at the clinic. I'll update this if and when we ever need to remove it entirely, just in case! The lack of color options was another issue as our Bubble Tube comes in a wider range of colors and we don't want kids to get bored with limited options. (See update above for remote controlled Honwell lights with GREAT color options). We are happy with the colors as they are and most importantly the kids we treat love them even with limited color options. Verdict. We love them and the kids we work with do too! Such a low price for something so easy to use with so many apps, you can't beat it. I'd happily buy another pack (or two) of these to add or replace more on the other side of the bladder tube if they ever get damaged/broken.
