Review on πŸ“» Cobra MR HH350W FLT Handheld Floating VHF Radio – Submersible, 6 Watt, LCD Display, Noise Cancelling Mic by Christopher Sullivan

Great radio, works as it should...

Revain hates this radio a lot. It seems people get a lemon product sometimes, but with Revain's return policy, that shouldn't be a problem. Like MANY other people, my radio works great. The sound is clear, it has a decent range, and it's fully waterproof. Make sure you test it right away, install a Cobra warranty and your radio MUST be protected in case anything happens. A few things I would recommend: Take the time to wipe down the radio (mostly just the battery terminals) and all seals after use, especially if it has been exposed to salt water, but you should always do this. Saltwater is aggressive to things, even "waterproof" ones. If the radio is flooded, blow LIGHTLY into the microphone to remove any remaining water and your transmission will not be distorted. I can't comment on the durability of the radio as I've only had it for a short time, but so far it's working great. I mainly use it for inland rivers and sheltered coves here in the mountainous PNW and my range at altitude is very good considering the size of this radio. I've been on the edge of this radio with so many negative reviews but this thing strikes me as a good Cobra product, reliable and convenient for me (a kayaker). I can unreservedly recommend this radio.

Cons
  • Dodgy purchase for old people
