I can raise the entire front, back or side with no problem. It lifts quite high, much higher than my 3 ton jacks can reach (there are more powerful 6 ton Pro-Lift jacks on my list). I can raise my truck for 2-3 full pumps. It's steel, so it's heavy and requires some effort to maneuver, but I feel more confident with the weight and bulk. I used to use a flimsy bottle jack that worked forever and exhausted me, so it really takes a lot of work on bigger jobs. I followed the directions and primed the reservoir before use, which seemed easy enough. The package has arrived in good condition.
