As a 32 year military service I know chemical flashlights, the military term for these 12 hour glowsticks. I noticed that one reviewer was not happy with the red ChemLights' lighting capabilities. Yes, if you want to light up a large area or even a two man tent in a safe place, red is probably not the best color choice. On the other hand, if you are looking for a ChemLight that draws less attention to your position and is harder for animals and humans to detect, red is the color of choice. This is intended for direct and personal use, e.g. B. for reading a map or marking a location without becoming a beacon at home. It also doesn't attract as many, if any, nocturnal animals and insects. Where there is information to consider in this overview, it is suggested that color selection in ChemLights should involve an assessment of the situation, application and desired results.
