Review on 🔍 Cummins Onan 1220836 Oil Filter by Craig Galante

This is a filter for my Onan 5500 generator. What can I say, this is a stock oil filter. But the Onan OEM filter is about 1/2 inch longer than the NAPA replacement I used last year. And that 1/2 inch makes a world of difference when it comes to removal since the alternator has an air seal that fits around the filter very close to the bottom of the oil filter. The Onan filter is long enough for the filter to protrude from under the air seal, allowing the filter to be removed without putting too much pressure on the air seal. The air seal becomes less flexible over time. I'm a fan of NAPA filters, but a NAPA filter forces you to temporarily deform the air seal to get a wrench at the bottom of the oil filter. I'll pay a few bucks more for Onan. And Revane delivered to my door. where the local Onan parts dealer can't help but sell their stock.
