When they arrived a two pack was full of air so obviously they were all spoiled. The second pack was sufficiently vacuumed, so we used it as usual. We fill the bags of silica in a jar with a tight lid until we need it. When the silica gel works, they form a seal and seal the jar. We've also found that we can tell active packs by how hot they get. The vessel filled with them never had a lid and they never got hot. These are sawdust sacks.
