Exactly what I was hoping for - firm enough to sit on, oriental to puff out into a more rounded shape that draws attention and just the right height to use as a footstool to serve. My sister finds it a bit rough on her bare feet but I love it. And my 2 year old niece too. She loves to sit on it and use it as a table. I'm glad I bought it!
