I have a caveat here: If I didn't try to use it with a 6 inch phablet I could give it a full 5 stars. Let's get this straight: this stand WILL NOT ACCEPT a 6 inch screen device. She is too short. And that's the *ONLY* reason I'm not giving it five stars. This is a very well made, solid stand that doesn't seem to break anytime soon. The design is pretty well thought out and will hold any device that fits in tightly but securely. The four side arms are supplied with mounting screws and nylok locknuts to secure them to the unit and there are six possible slots that they can fit into (tip: insert the screws from the back of the case to the correct depth and Width to hold the locking nuts in place while you tighten them.) You can choose four (or fewer, of course) of the six side lever slots to avoid your phone's side buttons. Actually there is only one problem. so, for my use and it might not be a problem if you try to use it with a smaller device. The specs for this stand state that it can hold devices from 2.25 inches to 3.25 inches wide and 4.75 inches to 6.25 inches long. Unfortunately, these properties are FALSE. With the side brackets installed and tightened as far as possible, the PD3U will hold a device up to 3.375" wide, not 3.25". This makes it wide enough to fit a 6-inch tablet phone like the Samsung Galaxy Note in an Otterbox Commuter case. about 1.25 inches (if you could find such a small device to use). LENGTH, however, is a whole different story. The RAM states a maximum length of 6.25 inches, and it's true that it *holds* a 6.25-inch device if you can fit it there. To get it in there, however, you'll need to remove a set of side arms and insert the device from the side, as the movable jaw doesn't open wide enough to *insert* a device longer than 6 inches in length from the front. Now, this isn't an issue for a device less than 6 inches long (let's say any phone with a screen up to 5.5 inches). And in my case I think I can get it to work since I want to install anyway, I can use all three side hand slots on the bottom edge, leave the top edge fully open and slip my Galaxy Note 3 in on top. In this case, however, if you're looking to accommodate a 6-inch upright carrycot unit, the oversized length might pose an issue for you. Two tech bats for design and construction. One star off for inaccurate specs, but I want to stress that this is the fault of the RAM mount, not the Spartan POS. If RAM made a stand just like this but half an inch longer, it would fit perfectly on 6-inch phablets, even in rugged cases. I have no doubt that this stand will fit anything under 6 inches in length.
