Wow, this lamp is so much better than the old model! I received mine today, very fast delivery. This Newerror model is sturdy with a heavy base. It's very easy to put together and doesn't look like it's going to fall over like the previous model, which I had to tie down with tape and rope (no kidding). My gray African liked it immediately. I moved in 8 months ago and it has had no power the entire time. He's 10 now and has had a full spectrum in those 10 years. He was never a plucker and had beautiful feathers. This affected his feathers without light - they lost their luster and he began to pluck his legs and chest. I hope this will do the trick. The main benefit of this lamp is that it's big enough for my large cage so I can place it right above it according to the recommended 12-18 inches. I'm very pleased with him and with his feathers and pluck time will tell.
