After more than six months and 537 miles I've decided to give up these shoes. The first problem was the spikes sticking out in front. I didn't think they would be a problem but on my second try I nearly tripped when they caught on a rock. I took them home and cut off the spines with a hacksaw. The second issue was the lacing system, flimsy laces with a tongue. I've tried them on several other pairs of running shoes and they seem to work better in theory than in practice. They'll be tight at the start of a run, but after a few miles they'll loosen and need to be tightened. After that they are mostly good. However, they have loosened more and more over the last 100 km. There is a small cap on the lace loop for you to tighten the laces. It's glued (?) but the glue comes off after a while and the part shifts and won't stay in place. The third problem was the top. It's not very durable and I have 4 holes where the mesh meets the toe guard and flexes. The sole is very durable and I still have a lot of profile. They don't look like they've driven 537 miles, that's all.
