This is a decent water jug that will provide enough water for a small family without having to change the filter too often. I bought it about two months ago and we use it regularly. Here's a tip: don't forget to fill the jug up with enough water to cover the filter. At first I noticed that the water wasn't very alkaline, but later I realized that I was using it incorrectly: First, I measured the pH of the water. Water with pH paper (make sure the color change is in the 7-9 range if you have one) but when I added some water the water only went through the filter and pH for about 10 seconds would be just over 7 if you check alkaline bottled water, it's usually advertised as having a pH of 9 which was more than I expected. If I filled the jug up 3/4 more, the water would still "touch" the filter, in which situation obviously more exchange could take place and the pH would now be between 8-9. Aha! Therefore, do not forget to replenish it to the appropriate level.
