After reading other reviews, I noticed that most of the complaints were about the instructions. I usually refer to directions when I can't figure it out (insert a joke about man and direction here) so I decided to make a purchase and see how difficult it really is. I liked the price and the seat looked like it had plenty of room for adjustment. First, the instructions aren't that great. I tried referencing them for 2 articles and they didn't help. In general, the landing was decent. The finish on one of the brackets was not very good and was slightly rusted. Everything else was good. Tools I used.1. 1/4" socket. 2. Head 10mm. 3. 8mm head. 4. 4mm allen wrench. (I started with 2, ended up switching to 3) 6. 10mm open end wrench (not pictured). It was used to tighten bolts near the seatpost Factory bolt holes next to the rear axle (the mounts freed my calipers leaving some room) 2 issues I had were mounting the seatpost for the trunk and attaching the handle for the child seat itself long bolt and nut to replace your existing seatpost bolt and nut however I wanted to keep the seatpost adjustable for storage I opted for a 180 degree rotation of the seatpost latch I had to remove 1 washer to make this work. I am planning to buy a slightly longer seatpost quick release bolt, you will need to remove the hardware and gasket, put the grip and put the bolt/B olze in. Then insert the spacer from the back before tightening everything. Before attempting to mount the rack, identify the screw holes and I recommend checking the bolt seating in the frame to ensure the threads are correct. After you've done this, tighten the bolts with an Allen wrench to clean the powder coating on the frame. This saves you a headache when installing the trunk. For my bike I used the lowest possible position of the rails (there are only 2 of them) to level the trunk. Once things get bad I tighten the screws/bolts from the seatpost area down making sure the post stays level. I used common sense while tightening everything up, I didn't want to cut the threads in the bike frame either. The post seating position was the only thing the instructions were useful for. It should be placed on the last "step" of the rack. This ensures that the child seat handle is not too close to the bicycle seat. Once configured, it becomes very secure! My son loves rides and the seat works great. I have increased my rating to 5 stars.
