I was shocked when I received a torque wrench. Supplied in a thin paper box. Upon inspecting the torque wrench it had a lube similar to that of a mechanic and fingerprints/thumbprints all over it. Also, the torque was not set to the minimum value (57 in-lbs). The torque wrench turned out to be used and I can only assume it was returned and reissued. I am a US Air Force retiree and have worked in and managed the aerospace industry; If a torque wrench has been returned, it is advisable to recalibrate or test the torque wrench before putting it back into service or selling it.
