I use this in my aquarium and it's good that you don't have to suck on the hose like with the traditional version (although I brush my teeth and gargle with antiseptic mouthwash more, before, without Fear of algae or fish droppings) in the mouth!) However, there is something to consider. 1. seems to work better when the outlet end of the pipe is below the bottom of the tank (it takes longer than I expected). 2. Squeeze the bulb firmly until the entire tube is filled with water (don't be too gentle). 3. I recommend not attaching a suction cup to your tank so you can quickly remove the siphon when the tank you are pumping water into is almost full). I only had it for a short time so I hope it lasts. Also, my tank is on a coffee table and I place the container/bucket on the floor, which I think is the perfect size/length for it. Finally, there appears to be decent suction power. The gravel penetrates the device at least 1 inch when you use it (assuming you hold it close to the ground).
