Requires Remote for Many Features & Bluetooth is Limited

I purchased two of these just before Christmas. Now, as I write the review the price has gone up $10 & personally I don't see their worth the price increase. The description should be more informative regarding the bluetooth connectivity for using the speaker. It pairs only with cell phones, not computers!I purchased one for an alarm clock in my bedroom & wanted an alarm clock and liked the option to mount it on the wall as well as with bluetooth to listen to music if I want. The second, was for my office, where I wanted to option for using the bluetooth for the speaker. The one for the office was put up, but within a couple hours it was removed and prepared for return the next day. I wanted it mainly for the bluetooth feature, but it wouldn't connect to my computer. I contacted the company via email and learned the bluetooth is only "programmed" to pair with cell phones, not computers. Their solution was I run an audio cable from the clock to the computer the speaker would function with my computer. Not a practical solution with the clock mounted on the wall and I move between 3 different workstations in my office with my computer depending on what I'm working on. Dealing with a cord, which would have to be 14+ feet long to reach the furthest workspace to where I had mounted the clock wouldn't be practical and present a trip hazard to boot for myself and anyone coming into the home office while I'm working.I've since decided to return the one in my bedroom as well after giving it several days to see if I can adjust to it. The bluetooth does work with my cell phone, so I can listen to music and the time is large enough for me see during the night without my glasses, but that about it in what I find positive about it.I did not buy it for the nightlight feature. The cons I can see there are I would not want a nightlight staring me the face at night. The clock was difficult to set the time and date, because the instructions are minimal, as are most instructions anymore. I guess companies believe you should somehow magically know how to maneuver through their device's settings. The clock's remote is required for setting time, date, and alarm, so if the remote gets lost or is broken those important features will be useless. I'm also not sure about the fact that the remote is necessary to turn off the alarm beyond the "sleep/doze" feature. I envision accidentally knocking the remote off my nightstand, it hitting the floor, and the resulting chorus of my dogs barking thinking something life threatening is happening! Not my idea of the way to start the day!The Anion air purifier is most likely a joke to make you "feel good" about supposedly cleaning the air. I can see no benefit to that feature. I did turn it on for most of the first day to see if it seemed to make any difference. Can't say I noticed any benefit, but I bought it figuring that was not a really functional feature anyway. The 3 brightness levels are what I refer to as (1) bright, (2) not so bright, and (3) no light. Not sure what the point of no light at all is, but maybe some desire that. The not so bright is still slightly brighter than I'd prefer at night, so a slightly lower setting between the middle one and no light at all would have been preferred.

Pros
  • Easy to clean and maintain
Cons
  • It may not have enough power to fill larger rooms with sound
