Awesome data store

The best value for your next dollar spent on speeding up your computer is to buy an SSD and install it as the main drive of your operating system. If you don't have an SSD for your computer, now is the time to buy one. The small 120-128GB models are great as a primary drive for fast startup and operational tasks, especially considering the low cost. Huge speed boost, getting the job done a little faster, less waiting at the machine. No spider iron spindle technology compares. If you can afford large sizes, go for it! We have several Samsung 840 PRO and 840 EVO drives in our machines and they all benefit from a significant increase in speed. Install Steam games on a second SSD drive and kids will always be the first to load levels in multiplayer games, let alone wait for the machine's response. To save money, install the 120GB EVO on your PC. For an all-purpose machine, install the 256GB PRO and get extra speed and storage, which is good for those who have media or a few games, and those who use the computer for work. For those who have no limits, install 256GB (or more) PRO as the main drive and 750GB or 1TB EVO as the second drive, install games on the second drive. Stick with Samsung for now. The drives are very reliable. Using lots of PRO 512GB drives in RAID enclosures at work is no problem. The PRO has a 5-year warranty and slightly better specs, while the EVO has a 3-year warranty and slightly lower cost. Crucial SSDs have also been used in laptops in the past, a great option, but Samsung's latest models offer better performance. The only other brand I would consider right now is Intel. Intel drives are among the most expensive, but are known for their very high reliability (both consumer and enterprise models).

Pros
  • It's ok!
Cons
