I bought this to connect audio from my PS4 to my PC. I recently bought a new monitor that switches from Displayport to HDMI, so I've decided to use it for both my PS4 and PC. I know I can use the controller audio out, but I use Behringer DAC studio banks on the PC and the sound is much better. I also find it easier to adjust the volume. I already had an extra cable to connect to the PC. First I tried to turn on the device via USB on the PS4. It worked, but I heard something like electromagnetic debris in the background. After reading some reviews that suggested an external power supply, I tried an old Nokia charger I dug up. After that, the background was free of noise. The sound quality is good and serves the purpose for which I bought the device.
