The innovation in walkie-talkie technology is fantastic - there's a hands-free feature where kids just press the talk button and they stay connected instead hold the button down every time they speak. They're a little more expensive than other walkie-talkies I've seen, but the design makes them more useful for younger kids. My kids under 4 quickly figured out how to use them and were able to entertain themselves. Also, they somehow didn't have that awful feedback noise where a kid would talk into one and hold the other in the other hand to listen to themselves. They make pretty loud bug/bird noises that kids love, but are probably better suited for outdoor use. They appear to be quite sturdy but there were some small parts that my kids were quick to bounce off but I was able to put them back on straight away.
