Got this for my girlfriend's daughter as a birthday present. I tested it with my husband and it works great. The sound is very clear with no background noise. It also has a light from above which makes it even better, I'm sure the kids will love it. Easy to use and light weight. In general, I recommend buying.

They work very well. Very fun for my kids. We also use it so my 6 year old can talk to me from the back of the van. I can't hear her, so she's just talking on her walkie-talkie while I'm sitting in the seat next to me. I can speak loud enough for her to hear my answer. The only complaint is that the beep that sounds when someone presses the talk button is very loud and annoying.

Works great my 3 year old son loves it. It's easy for him to understand. A small design flaw - I wish the 'talk' button was on the side. The bottom is front centered, making it difficult to hold and squeeze with small hands. There are also buttons that get in the way of little hands. In general, I recommend, and this "bug" shouldn't put you off buying it - I just wanted to point that out.

It was interesting. When we received 3 packs of walkie talkies only 2 of them worked. The 2 that worked worked very well and the kids enjoyed using them. Opening the third, the problem seemed to be in the metal connectors that connect the batteries. My son and I were able to get it working by putting foil over these connectors. When we did that, the electrical connection was restored and it finally worked.

After several attempts to buy Target's kids walkie-talkies we were skeptical about buying new ones, but I'm SO glad we gave them a whirlwind. The antenna is not flexible, so I can already say that they will last longer.
