Solid. Easy construction; use a ratchet screwdriver. The magnet is very strong, stronger than most other blocks, with a long reach. Suitable for narrow blades. If you use steel forks and spoons for routine prep work, they'll hold up, too, or at least have something to lean on. I have a pair of vintage Henckel's Manor stainless forks and a tablespoon side by side on my prep table. This device supports them fairly well and is conveniently placed side by side but at the same time out of the way when not in use. Accommodates the narrowest long blades and fillets and of course standard kitchen cutlery. Heavy block, no hesitation or movement when pulling out a standard 8 inch Japanese high carbon steel cooking pot. Just slide it up or twist it slightly. One of the best blocks on the market and the best value for money.
