Sturdy and attractive

I use electronic calendars for appointments, etc., but I like a hard-copy version as well so I can write notes and have it open and handy at home. I am trying a smaller version than the typical 8 1/2 x 11 I’ve used in the past. This one looks like it will be good.UPDATE: I took one star off because I discovered that the expanded section for daily notes that follows each monthly calendar starts not on day one of the month, but rather the first Monday of the month: Jan. 2, Feb. 6 and so on. . I understand that makes sense from a production/layout standpoint, but it does not benefit the consumer. I can still make use of the planner’s other nice features, but it definitely seems a poor choice on the part of the seller.Pros:Construction is sturdy. The spiral binding is substantial and heavy, not thin wire. The front and back covers are thick enough to stand up to my careless ways. And the monthly tabs look like they’ll hold up as well. The front page of each month has a goals section (probably won’t use that, tend to fly through life by the seat of my pants), and a notes section that I will use.The squares for each day of the month are fairly small, so if you have a lot to write on each day, you won’t have the room. But it works for me, so I’m listing it not as a "con” but rather a caveat. The notes section that follows the main monthly calendar has ample room to expand on info for each day. There is an additional list for the current and next two years of what day a particular date falls on. At first glance, that seemed unnecessary, but then I realized it is handy for a quick check of important dates, such as someone’s birthday or a particular holiday.I always like a few pages for general notes, and it’s nice that this planner has more than just a couple at the back.CONS: I have used planners of this type for a number of years, so unless this one spontaneously combusts or is visited by some other unexpected calamity, I am confident I will be happy with it, so no cons for me (but again, be aware of its measurements).
