I bought the YI Camera 2 first and after weeks of waiting for them to have an available Apple app I returned it for the Amcrest IP2M-841 Pro HD . I'm glad I did. This camera is much better in quality and features than Yi. The Yi I originally bought wasn't a dome camera, so this isn't an accurate comparison. How can they compare in so many ways? Amcrest has the best image quality, which is real time based on my observations. Yi froze, and it was like watching a time-lapse video. This camera, how many times I've looked, the picture remains in real time. Both cameras allowed me to see both cameras at the same time. The difference is that Amcrest allows me to see live images at the same time, while Yi displays both images, but not in real time. I had to select the camera I wanted to view and wait for it to load. Amcrest is live and instant view when I want to jump to a camera. With Yi, I was able to disable the camera through the app. From what I see on Amcrest, the camera won't turn on and off until you unplug it from the power source. Amcrest is more complicated than Yi when it comes to setting up cameras. Yi was pretty basic while Amcrest offers a lot more options in the settings and takes a while to figure it all out. For example, with Amcrest you can set up recording for all times, specific times of day, specific days, or limit recording only when motion is detected. If you want to play back an image, you can specify a specific time period for the display. I didn't give it five stars because it's missing some features that I would have loved. First, there is no external microphone volume control. It's very delicate. I have a clock about 12 feet from a cell and you can hear the clock ticking through the cell. I would like to be able to adjust the sensitivity of the microphone. Second, I would like the ability to display two cameras at the same time. The lowest option when viewing four cameras simultaneously. It's not that bad, just that the images are smaller with two live images and two blank images on the display. Another thing that really disappointed me is the camera rotation. My main goal was to get the cameras to follow our dog. This camera pans sideways perfectly, but I miss the up and down tilt. He will lean high enough to see the ceiling but not as low as he would like to see the floor (where the dog is). The higher you place the camera, the poorer the view below the camera. Luckily, the camera comes with an adjustable wall mount. I used this mount with a camera that I had placed higher on a shelf and adjusted the mount so that the camera itself was tilted down. This helped me get more detail of the floor image. In general I am satisfied with the camera. Also, my information is based on the Amcrest View Pro app.
