We saw straws like this for the first time in Santa Monica and we really liked them! I don't use plastic straws, but paper straws get uncomfortable in your drink, and reusable ones can be a problem, especially when you're having guests. They are great for cocktails! It is important to note that the straws are natural and therefore have a rather small diameter. I wouldn't use this for something thick like a smoothie. They have a specific smell (which I like - just the smell of weed) but I didn't notice any taste.
