Review on πŸ”Œ UPWADE Outlet Power Strip Surge Protector with 4 Smart USB Charging Ports (Total 5V 4.2A Output), 5ft Cord, and Multi-Port USB Wall Charger Desktop Hub - Portable Travel Charging Station by Marc Stewart

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Long cable and 4 USB slots!

I bought this to replace what I left behind when travelling. I have some likes and some dislikes: First, let's get the negatives out of the way: 1. It's bigger than the one I'm looking to replace. When packing for a trip, less is more. 2. The build quality is in the air. Nothing broke but seems less durable than my old one. The retaining clip holding the plug in place looks like it's about to break.3. Sometimes it is difficult to connect the AC plug to the device. The advantages outweigh the disadvantages. 1. Even though the clip appears patchy, it holds up better than my old one which only had a friction fit.2. The cable is longer than my old one. No more hanging in the socket. This should easily reach from the outlet to the top of the bedside table if they are as close as most hotel rooms.3. Although the connector isn't flat, the cable exits the side instead of the back. It must be plugged into an outlet behind furniture without bending the cord.4. FOUR USB sockets. My old one and most potential replacements I've considered only had two. Build quality can be a perception issue. If it holds up well over time and distance I will consider this money well spent. I hope it doesn't become "disposable". In that case, the money will go down the drain.

Pros
  • Extension cord and surge protector
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
