So far these hooks have worked where others have failed. I've bought them in small, medium and large sizes and have used medium so far, but I assume all sizes will work the same as long as you don't go over the weight limit. For my needs, I have silicone pot lids that I wanted to hang on a cupboard door to have handy. I tried a different brand of adhesive hook which I have replaced twice because it came loose. They left an ugly, sticky mess stuck to the glue. So I decided to look for another alternative and found Command Hooks. In this case I used medium hooks because they need to hold 3 pounds and the cover I was trying to hang weighed just under 3 pounds. I cleaned the adhesive residue from the other hooks, cleaned the area with rubbing alcohol as recommended, and left the Command hook on the door for an hour as recommended. So far a few weeks have passed and the hooks are holding. I am very satisfied and can only recommend these hooks. I also suggest that any area where you use command hooks be clean and smooth. This will help them stick more firmly. I also like that they can be easily removed when you no longer need them. UPDATE 3/30/18: The hook I originally installed on the back of a cupboard door in April 2016 to hold silicone pot lids still holds tight. two years later.
