I live in Maine where the commute from my home to my car is bound to be slippery or icy. These pens worked great. After years of slipping, slipping, and accidental falls, I lost confidence in being able to cheekily walk out my door in the winter. I've tried these grips throwing snow when snow covered slippery, treacherous ice and they worked great. I've found these grips to shift around my leg after working outside the home for some time - it's not a big deal as they're pretty easy to remove and adjust. Tried them today after subsequent freeze thaw cycles which made the ice incredibly slippery. I might not have walked the ice bravely, instead I shuffled in awe, but each time those grips gave me a good, solid grip. I'm definitely getting these for my 70+ year old mom. I would recommend that if you have thick boots like my rubber soled beans that you go one size up.
