Worked perfectly on first use about a week after purchase. I took it camping last week (I use it to sweep dirt out of my tent every day) and it fell apart on me which sucks because now I can't put it back on something that actually works. Only twice before the glue on the black plastic stopped sticking. So there's nothing to secure the hinge when it's extended, and it's easier to hold the bottom half than the top handle. Which defeats my purpose of buying a retractable broom. I am particularly annoyed as this was my SECOND broom from this company. The first was replaced with a new one, since it was not extended and jammed in a compact position. It has been replaced with my current broom which extends but is not secure. Save yourself the trouble and get another broom.
