Ventilation clip defective after 6 months of normal use

The shell holds the Magsafe charger nicely, the vent looks smooth and neat but the part that attaches to the vent itself didn't hold up. The teeth are metal with a rubber coating that has chipped and peeled off after normal use (I don't lift or take off the vent). Now it won't stay in the vent so I'm looking for a new solution.
