Great Crochet Book for Beginners - Afghan knitting patterns are easy. It may not be the best choice for experienced knitters looking for new and more intricate pattern ideas. In this book mostly only variations of grandmother's square and simple crochet patterns. I love seeing their color combinations and I found it helpful. Many pattern directions require two strands to work together all the time, doubling the cost of the afghani. I've found that using a single skein of colored yarn gives the appearance of mixed colors but reduces the overall cost of the project.
