If you have an Asus motherboard with a vertical M.2 slot, this is a must have. Otherwise, you'll end up with a black and green bar sticking out next to your RAM, which looks pretty odd. My other SSD with thermal pad and Asus heatsink got up to 58C, but it's a slower SSD.
