Bought this to replace the dead battery in an A1708 macbook pro. While the instructions are OK, I would highly recommend viewing the various u tube videos showing how to do it. One thing I did not initially understand is why you need to remove the trackpad to do this. But I did so and the reason became apparent after I removed the center battery. There are chips on the battery side of the trackpad circuit board. If you leave the trackpad in place, it would be very easy to damage those chips when using the plastic scrapers to release the center battery. Also, on my unit there are six screws of three different lengths holding on the bottom cover. Pay careful attention to which screws come out of which holes.After installation, I charged it up and got it playing video. Ran over 5 hours and the macbook battery status changed from "needs service” to "normal”.Given that Apple wants $200 for the battery service, spending an hour to do it myself was a nice savings.
