An inexpensive way to get a Cannon Lake processor into your system.

Bought this motherboard to build an inexpensive workstation for my work as a pharmacist. I paired it with an i3 8100 and two 4GB Patriot Signature 2666MHz RAM and everything worked exactly as expected. The board gave me no problems installing it. CPU and RAM are detected and work fine at first boot. It's a very humble board with a few bells and whistles, but it's all I need. All connections were relatively well labeled. I had a bit of a mix up with the power supply and LEDs on the front panel, but it was my fault for rushing through the assembly. The board has a PCI-E x16 slot and 2 PCI-E x1 slots. I don't use any of these (integrated graphics and no other extensions) so I can't comment on them, although I'm sure they work. The CPU power is a 4 pin and the board power is the standard 24+4 pins. The BIOS is easy to navigate if you need to make any adjustments, although my build was literally "plug and play". I installed Windows 10 on an NVME drive in less than 20 minutes. The only snag along the way was a couple of drivers that couldn't be installed with the rest of Windows. A quick jump to Gigabyte's website gave me drivers for the LAN and the Intel chipset, which Windows didn't automatically load. A note for those who will be using an M.2 drive and other SSD/HDD drives; When the M.2 slot is occupied, one of the SATA 6GBPS ports will be disabled and the PCI lane will be used for the M.2 slot. I am using only one NVME M.2 drive and no other attached drives. However, note that one port is not enough if you plan to connect other drives when creating an M.2 boot device. Puffs together and haven't had any issues since the original build. I would definitely recommend this board if you are looking for a cheap board and don't need many/no features. He does his job for little money.
