If you need heat, they get hot, so that's a plus. I like how the balls sit in the bowl. I have another one from somewhere else and the bowl itself is thinner and deeper which is good but looks a little different and was more expensive. Well I bought 2 of these. The first one I opened was perfect, it had a lovely deep orange glow. I was hoping to get a matching set as I have one on each side of the TV stand. However, the second had almost no orange glow. It's pretty white, at least I thought so. I bought another one, a third, hoping to get another one with a better color and there is absolutely no orange in it. I highly doubt it's even Himalayan salt. 🙄 The chances of getting the beautiful orange lamp you are looking for seem pretty slim. I'm more than disappointed. Maybe I'll connect them and post pictures to show the difference in them later. To be honest, I haven't even unpacked the third one yet.
