They are slightly darker than in this photo. They smell like chemicals and need to be hung out to dry (which is pretty quick though). These are my first silk sheets. They're silky soft and you'll know exactly when your skin is rough or your nails need filing. The pillowcases are very slippery and difficult to keep in place all night. They landed on the floor or had to be pushed against a wall or headboard. My husband has had them before and he hates silk sheets. "You don't have a clutch"
