MEH, mediocre optical quality

Lately I'm interested in observing wild animals (mainly birds, rabbits, chipmunks, foxes, etc.) that are constantly in our garden, so I decided to buy this monocular to try as they got good reviews, are compact and seemed to make a lot of money. Unfortunately, I just can't get past the mediocre optical quality when looking through it. Contrast, color and sharpness just don't meet my expectations. I'm a professional photographer and I have expectations for the lenses I use. and i'm used to using good glass so maybe i'm a bit harsh on them but to be honest i also bought a pair of nikon aculon 8x42 binoculars which were about the same price and work a lot better. . I suppose if you're just trying to see something far away (e.g. to check the location of a target or license plate) they're fine. But when I looked at them for a long time while observing the creatures in the yard, I didn't find them very comfortable to use. Hope that helps.
