Good print quality - printers and supplies

Good print quality. Terrible software. HP has always made reliable printers. This was purchased a few weeks ago to replace a similar model and I'm happy with the actual printing capabilities. However, getting the software to stop automatic two-sided printing is not easy and may take a few tries. Worse, I got the error message "Loading paper tray 2" followed by "Load available media" for no apparent reason. I've browsed the forums and have come to the conclusion that here too an adjustment of the settings is necessary. Easier said than done, and none of the answers on the HP forum (if they turned out to be non-broken links) addressed the issue, as I've restarted the software and printer multiple times. It was very frustrating to reset and "apply" all the settings only to get the same error messages. Even with "Job Storage" disabled, I had to manually start the printer in the printer software every time I sent a print job to it. Not only do software settings need to be made in the printer settings, but there are also settings that need to be corrected on the printer's menu screen itself. This makes me think that HP's drivers and software configurations are unnecessarily complicated and frustrating for their inexpensive printers, but worse, the software will eventually conspire to stop using this printer long before it actually wears out. (I've already had to throw a cheaper inkjet printer right out of the box because it didn't recognize "configured" ink cartridges. With its cartel and ink monopoly, HP's software was essentially confirming what its support staff had done: bad chips in cartridges Installing cartridges meant there would never be a way to use an inkjet printer.)
