Review on 🐴 Texas Haynet - Slow Feed Round Bale Hay Net - Sturdy Round Bale Feeder for Horses by John Bennett

Hay Keeper!

I don't normally feed round bales. They allow horses to waste a ton plus the amount of dust they constantly inhale when their heads are stuck in them. However my husband and I are the first to react and when Covid hit our community we knew we might be working 16 hour days. We had to make sure our horses could eat when we couldn't go home. So we bought a hay net and some round bales. I really believe in binding at the bottom of the ball. So we added a ratchet step to the bottom of the bale. It wasn't until the next day that I realized it was unnecessary. Once they start pulling hay through and the bale breaks loose and falls onto the net, there is so much weight on the ground that they cannot pull the net out. Although with this. The net is still very stretchy to accommodate more loose hay and to accommodate horses rushing around for hay. The second photo is Day 3. Day 3! Look how many are not on earth! My horses can definitely get frustrated with hay nets as I have smaller ones that I use for flakes. The cheaper brands definitely didn't last a week on me, but after 3 weeks on a bale I couldn't find a single spot. I am thrilled and have recommended this network to friends time and time again. We tested the knot towards the end of the bale's life and simply tightened it once the bale was small enough to reach the knot. I will buy again if this chain ever dies on me.
