Shrink insert 2.5mm for 3D printing
These are hard to find! 2.5mm inserts are mainly used for PCB mounting like Raspberry Pi. Mine came with a bonus 3D printed solder tip holder which was not described in the product description. It looks lonely with just a tip in it. Brass inserts slide smoothly into PLA @ 200C soldering tip. It doesn't look like they move straight or by twisting. The plastic melts and hardens around the insert grooves. Seller tips: Sell cheaper without a soldering tip! I don't have a Hakko or Weller, so unfortunately I can't use a soldering tip.
- A mounting tip works better than a soldering iron tip as the conical tips can catch on the insert and accidentally pull the insert out if the plastic melts and ruins your part.
