This worked very well when our praying mantis hatched. I bought one for each egg box (10) and each egg box hatches 100-2000 praying mantises. That was great! The mantises were ventilated and safe during hatching. I had to look very closely to see if they hatched because although they are see-through, they are not entirely see-through. But it worked out great for us. I "tipped" the stick, held in place only by the shape of the habitat itself, so the eggshell could hang from it. One of them will make a great home for a praying mantis after hatching. You have 12 hours to get them all out before they start eating each other. Nobody was hurt, nobody ran away. All were safe. It was a great experience and they were just perfect for the situation.
