Umbrella arrived broken. A small piece of plastic has broken off the part of the canopy that you press onto the center shaft to extend the canopy - see photo. Due to this failure, the umbrella is not fixed in the handle. Constantly wants to be in the open position - it will not close. However, all is not completely lost. You can still close the roof of the umbrella with Velcro, which is usually wrapped around it when closed. You can't put the umbrella in the handle to fix it, but you can put it on the umbrella stand. So the umbrella can still be used - it just can't be closed. Too bad the screen seems to break so easily in transit - or maybe sooner, I don't know. I didn't find any broken plastic in the bag the umbrella was wrapped in, so it's possible the plastic was already broken at the factory. Because otherwise it is a really good umbrella and I like it very much. That's a lot more than what you usually get in a compact folding umbrella. Yes, it is also much larger. Not sure if this will fit in hand luggage, it might be too long. But it fits in a suitcase. Great size for me and my son walking in the rain. Very beautiful. Usually a product that is broken upon arrival gets one star. This one gets two, which says something. But still it was broken upon arrival. Can't be too positive about it.
