You're paying for great and functional design. I shuddered spending that much money on a piece of plastic but considering you are buying an item that is perfect for the purpose and perfect for a Corvette. Well, we use it a lot and don't regret the purchase at all. Holds water bottles, RV mugs, yeti mugs, whatever you want. It doesn't take up too much space (most of the time - there's not that much space). Even when I'm driving, my husband (he's a big guy) keeps it in the passenger seat while we drink in the car. Sits well, doesn't fall. Simple and easy to install and remove. It's hard to believe, but it really is the perfect design. And it really is what you pay for.
