Silky soft!Quality materials and construction.The inner pillow is 100% polyester and it comes flattened, with all of the air squeezed out. When you take it out of the plastic bag, it puffs up. It's easy to insert this into the outer pillow case. The outer cover of the inner pillow is 100% cotton.The outer case -- the gold velvet cover -- is 100% polyester. This fabric has a lining. The label does not indicate that it is machine washable -- just "spot clean with a damp white cloth."It's preferable to have a pillow case be machine washable, but I do see the allure of this fabric! It has a slight texture. It appears to be quite durable and, as mentioned above, soft and silky.
