I have been using off grid solar power for over 5 years and one of the first problems I encountered was monitoring the system remotely. Developers are gaining momentum, but I'm wary of so-called smart home devices that rely on Bluetooth to communicate with machines. Not that the idea is a bad one, the problem encountered with these devices is the general lack of secure Bluetooth hardware updates. And whether it is available depends on the original manufacturer in most cases. Most of them don't offer these updates, so I've decided to stick with wired devices, at least for the near future. So, until now, about 1 month, I have been satisfied with this controller monitor. This allows the system to be customized, although it can be much more extensive. But the industry is still in its infancy. They could have offered an option with longer Category 5e cables at the point of sale, but again I got what I needed as an aftermarket purchase. In summary, until we can trust companies to offer more secure access to Bluetooth devices, wired devices will be much safer to use in the long run.
