I received this item a few days ago and wanted to test it in different weather conditions before writing a review. The only place I installed the holder was on the windshield, but it can be placed on the dashboard, which I haven't tried. There was also a ventilation clamp in the box in case the other 2 places didn't fit. I used to have a vent clip holder that would rattle and even shake when I held my phone on it. I recently made some upgrades to my car that made it shake a little more, so I decided to try another way to fix the shake. This holder keeps my phone from shaking and making noise which is great. The overall design is very solid and easy to adjust. There are 3 different settings available. Extend/shorten the length of the stand, change the angle of the bracket, and rotate the phone holder 360 degrees. It is very easy to place the device in the holder. Lean it against the ground and clip it on the sides. To release, simply press the button and the clips will release. Overall I am satisfied with the product and the price. I would recommend it! To update! Get new version. I used to have an old version of this phone holder, but after a month of use the mount started to lose its integrity. My car shakes more than normal cars due to modifications; so that the joints slowly loosen. This new version is amazing so far. The suction power is definitely better and the handles seem to be more durable. The claws holding the phone also come off much quicker than in the previous version. I've had it installed for about a week now and haven't noticed any loss of connection. This product comes with a vent clip and a dash that allows the holder to be top mounted if suitable suction surfaces are not available. a cup.
