Second Optima pump. Hooray!

This is the second Optima pump I have bought. Why did I buy a different Optima fuel pump? Well I bought the pump for my 2016 RZR 900 in 2018. I had an issue with the RZR 900 when I drove for about an hour, the engine started to lose power and then died. I sat there for 5-10 minutes, started the engine and it started. Then I was able to ride for 10 to 20 minutes before he died again. I searched the internet for the problem and found a forum that described my problem. Half of the comments suggested it was the pre-filter while the rest said it was the fuel pump. I figured if it was a pre-filter issue I would have trouble running the RZR900. So I bought an Optima fuel pump. Problem solved and the RZR 900 ran with no issues. So here we are in 2020 and I have the 2018 XP1000 Rocks and Trails. It's summer and it's hot and I'm on my way from the Utah Delta to Fillmore and on to Sand Rock Ridge. I distance 35-40 miles. The temps were between 90 and 100. I rode the XP1000 up the Sand Rock Ridge and when I was 3/4 up it started to lose power. I quickly turned and started down the canyon. I got to Fillmore and then made my way back to the Utah Delta. 8 times on the way back to Delta the XP1000 started to lose power and then the engine died. I would pull off the road, wait 5-10 minutes, start the engine and drive off again. Finally I came home. This was the same issue I had with the 2016 RZR 900. I was thinking about this issue and decided to check the part number on the fuel pump assembly on a Polaris XP1000. It was the same part number as the 2016 RZR 900. The pump part number was the same as the Bosch part number on the RZR900. At that point I ordered an Optima pump as a replacement. Problem solved. You know that if you take your RZR to the dealer they can't figure out the problem unless there's an engine diagnostic code. When I took the RZR 900 in 2016, they couldn't figure out the problem. I told them the problem started after driving the RZR for about an hour and there was no engine code. Same issue with XP1000, replaced RZR 900 pump assembly with Optima pump and XP1000 works fine. The Bosch pump on the XP1000 pump assembly has been replaced with a new Optima pump. Put it in a RZR 900 and go for a long ride tonight. No problem. Take this pump, there will be no problems. To replace the pump, unsolder the connections on the old pump. Use a soldering iron and remove the wires on the new pump. Solder the old wires to the new pump. I didn't change the pressure regulator because I don't think it causes problems. Pump and coarse filter changed. Works perfectly. The Optima pump comes with fuel lines, pressure regulators, auxiliary fuel lines, etc. To swap them out quickly, unsolder the connectors from the old fuel pump and then solder those connectors to the new fuel pump and install the pre-filter. Here we go!
