I have two semi-feral outdoor cats and we live in Northwest Indiana. In winter it gets very cold. I ordered a bowl of food and heated water and this heating pad to keep them comfortable in the winter. I have it in a medium sized dog cage covered with a tarp. It doesn't get as hot as a heating pad sold for humans, but cats have a higher body temperature than us, so it's great for its purpose. I don't have to worry that the kittens won't have a warm place when it's freezing outside.
