Review on πŸ–¨οΈ Efficient Renewed Brother HL-L2300D Monochrome Laser Printer with Duplex Printing by Hassim Rambli ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Overall it's not bad, but I expected more.

The printer can only be connected via USB. It does not have WiFi and Ethernet network interfaces. The main disadvantage is the small resource of the print output rollers and their lack of sale both separately and assembled with the axis on which they are fixed. These are the rollers that bring the finished prints to the tray from above. There are four of them, they are rigidly fixed on a metal axis, which sets them in motion. Problems with them began a year and a half after buying the printer. It consists in the fact that during duplex printing it prints one side, the second one cannot anymore - it jams the sheet in the duplex printing device. The problem had a floating character - it appeared, then it left. Then jams began and with one-sided printing, it became impossible to print. Removed the top cover, cleaned the rollers with isopropyl. The problem went away for a while, but returned after a few months. I removed the top cover again, cleaned the rollers and lubricated all the gears with special silicone grease. When reassembling, I carefully adjusted the top cover so that there was not the slightest gap anywhere. I checked everything, rechecked it, collected it - the printing went again. Thus, it was confirmed that the matter was in the rollers. Decided to buy new ones. I started looking and was unpleasantly surprised - these rollers are not sold either complete with an axle or separately. It turns out that you will have to look for rollers of similar size and glue them on the axle, it is possible to put some kind of spacers or, on the contrary, cut off the excess. Some owners of this printer model complain about problems with the printer waking up from sleep mode. I have never had any glitches with the sleep mode. Perhaps because immediately after the purchase I ated the printer firmware. And even ated it after a year of operation. In general, the printer is pretty good, but the lack of rollers for sale makes its operation in the long term a year or more problematic. Who does not take paper well from the feed tray - change the pickup rollers, they are on sale.

Pros
  • 1. Print speed 2. Nice appearance 3. Lack of problems with refilling the cartridge: the cartridge is without a chip, the page counter can be reset with the Go button in User Mode (for lazy people) or a mechanical flag on the cartridge (for diligent ones). In a word, fall asleep toner, and only. 4. The resource of original consumables slightly exceeds the one declared by the manufacturer 5. Closed paper tray 6. Separated cartridge and photoconductor. On the one hand, this is good and right, but on the other hand, for example, there are HP cartridges. In them, the photo shaft and the toner reservoir are combined in one housing, HP cartridges go no worse than the divided Brother design.
Cons
  • 1. Resource roller output finished prints 2. No USB cable included 3. Noisy
