I'm not a podcaster, vlogger, content creator or musician and am considering this for just one need: a microphone for Zoom, Skype and Hangouts. I needed a better solution than the native Macbook and Surface mics, and I recently participated in Maono's Kickstarter campaign on his Maoncaster, so thought I'd try their mic while I wait. I didn't need a big rig like a pop filter and arm or a big mount and controller so I bought this. And my one line review: Exactly what I was looking for. I spent a day comparing this mic to the Samson Go, laptop mics and an old cheap gaming mic from a few years ago. I had a few friends who zoomed in and uploaded Hangouts with me and they all said the Maono mic was the clearest and it picked up the voice. The gain control on the microphone is a nice touch. I use it anywhere from a foot to 16 inches from the mic, so I didn't use the included puff to help with the cotton. Mic sounds great Long USB cable plus cardioid mics work best for me because I don't have to speak right in front of 180. Maybe the only really important downside for me is that it doesn't have an indicator light to know if it's on, too high or not not working. Imagine if they had more expensive options but that was all I could really afford. I would say even better than what I remember as my meteor. Really very impressed so far and would fully recommend it as a dedicated microphone for conference calls and online meetings during all this Covid.
