basic sound quality is very good. This is a great PC speaker. I particularly like the fact that you can have multiple audio sources and switch between them with the included remote control. My only complaints about it are: 1) "Soundfield Spatializer" didn't work on the first device I got. I didn't know what to expect from this new feature, but the noticeable difference in audio playback tone and volume didn't sound like the right answer. However, Edifier was kind enough to send me a second unit to replace the first without first returning the defective unit. (Good customer service!) Now the "Soundfield Spatializer" on the second device switches between a very focused and a distributed sound field, as it says in the description. 2) The range of the tone controls seems very limited - I found it difficult to notice any effect on the sound, which is what I heard. I've used fixed frequency tones to make sure they really work, but like I said above their effect on your music can be hard to see. Audible Base starts at around 45 Hz and can be cranked up or down a lot. At other frequencies, the effects are less noticeable. Overall I think these are great speakers. I haven't tried "Soundfield Spatializer" and subwoofer out, so I don't know if they are useful or not.
