Needle cord, smooth, durable. The magic circle works and no problems. I'm a beginner and have tried a lot, but bamboo grips are too sticky and other metals are very slippery. They glide well and have a soft touch (the metallic finish is slightly matte) so I don't have to keep dropping stitches when I pull off the finished one. For knitting socks and lace that are sharp enough for the weight of your finger but won't separate stitches. I went to class and was pleasantly surprised to see that my teacher with 45 years of knitting experience also used them.
